about us!

Off To Space! is a free PDF zine created to celebrate the new run of Bee and Puppycat coming to Netflix this year! The team loves this show and wants to create content that drums up even more hype for BAPC. Most importantly, we wish to unite the many fans looking for a community. Our theme for the zine is canon compliant.

FAQ

  • Q: Is the zine free or paid?
    A: It is a free pdf zine. We will not be making physical merch or ask you for money at any point. If someone tells you otherwise, do not believe them.

  • Q: In what medium should my contribution to the zine be?
    A: Anything you'd like! As long as we can put it in a pdf file. It can be a picture for cosplay, a tab for a guitar arrangement, or .png for digital art. If you have a very original contribution, you will work together with the mods to find the best way to put it in the zine.

  • Q: What is the timeline/schedule for the zine?
    A: The zine in its entirety will be run from the interest check on the 8 of august 2022 to release on the 15th of january 2023. Between each check-in on contributors there will be four weeks. There will be three check-ins and then a final 4 weeks until your final submission. Two weeks later the zine will release. Please note that it might take longer, as it could with any project.

  • Q: How will there be communicated with contributers?
    A: We will send an email with information for every phase of the zine. Besides that, there will be a discord server in which we will all create and talk about the show together! It is mandatory to be in the discord server. The mods will be in there to answer any questions. Our tumblr asks are also open to any questions.

  • Q: Will there be spoilers for the show in the zine?
    A: You are allowed to put spoilers in your work. There will be two parts to the zine. The first part will have works without spoilers and the second part has works with spoilers. As we make the zine, the new season releases. There will be opportunity to watch it together in the discord server.

  • Q: What measurement will my contribution need to be?
    A: You will receive a template in which your work will need to fit. Simply put, it will be on a vertical A4 page. You can ask for two or more pages if you make a spread illustration, comic or something else that requires more than one page.

  • Q: Will I be able to show my work on socials as we make the zine?
    A: You cannot show the entire thing until after the zine has released. If you post your work after release, we ask that you tag us in it so that we can reblog/retweet it! While the zine is in the works, you will have the opportunity to show a sample of it on your socials. For the exact measurement of this, you will receive a a template as well.

  • Q: What happens to the rights of my work?
    A: Nothing! we won't own your work, it's still yours. We only ask that we may publish it in the zine and that you do not reveal it until it is published.

rules

  • Be respectful. This zine is meant to be a labor of love, and anyone found to be disrespectful, racist, lgbtphobic, etc. will be removed from the project.

  • This zine is SFW. Though romantic pairings* are fine with us, extremely suggestive material is not permitted, as we want the zine to be enjoyed by all ages. Topics such as drinking, cursing, and violence are permitted in moderation. (We understand that the show can be more mature at times.) *we ask that any content created for this zine does not include Bee/Puppycat as a romantic pairing, or any incestuous or pedophillic ships. This is a hard no.

  • Spoilers are discouraged. We want this zine to drum up hype for the upcoming season. Ideas revealed in season 1 are absolutely allowed, but content involving Violet, Bee’s father, and the hands will have to unfortunately be vague. The space outlaw is a gray area, so we will permit content regarding him as long as the premise of his past is not fully delved into.

expectations for contributors

Artists, writers, cosplayers, designers, we welcome a variety of art styles and skill levels! That being said, we do ask for effort, and a grasp of polish in your work.

We ask for examples of your craft that are:

  • Fully finished

  • Demonstrate an understanding of anatomy/coloring, or proper grammar and syntax

  • Are SFW

  • Work that you are proud of!

We do not require:

  • Bee and Puppycat themed content (though if you have examples it is encouraged!)

  • Complex backgrounds or writing longer than 20k

  • Any specific following count
